Alpine Suite

A chalet inside a nineteenth-century palais: the stucco ceiling stays exactly where it is, and everything else speaks of the mountains. In the sitting room, a stone fireplace with a fire lit in the evening, a forest-green velvet sofa, leather armchairs, wool throws, a sheepskin rug on the parquet and a large painting of the Bavarian Alps.

The bedroom is panelled in pale oak, with a carved wooden headboard, green-and-cream wool plaids and low, warm lamps. The bathroom pairs oak with stone: a freestanding copper bath, a rain shower with wooden details, linen towels and fresh pine branches in a vase.
